Delivering up to 2,170 kNm within the standard range, Dana S-Series gearboxes are a compact solution for torque-demanding applications, and benefit from several type-approval certifications, critical in the marine industry.
Offering potential space and weight savings between 40 and 60% compared to traditional helical solutions, our S-Series planetary gearboxes benefit from a modular design for better layout flexibility in several applications. The full range covers torque values from 34,000 to 2,170,000 Nm, all of which are standard models. Bespoke solutions are also obtained from standard components, making them an economically viable answer with standard lead times. Our range is type-approved with DNV certification and for non-standard versions or when certification from other authorities is required, these can be obtained on a case by case basis. All S-Series units can be supplied with negative multidisc brakes, as well as adaptor flanges and couplings to suit most electric and hydraulic motors.
Tensioner Cable Laying
Cable and pipe-laying tasks at sea require highly reliable equipment. This is where Dana’s certified solutions are a reassuring option. Both rotating shaft and rotating case solutions can be utilized for cable and pipe-laying applications. We can also supply integrated coolers to provide a complete solution when required.
Deck Crane
Catering for a wide variety of deck cranes handling the lifting, lowering, and positioning operations, the Dana S-Series units are used on winch drives and slewing drives. All standard modules are designed to fit type-approved integrated pinions and customized output supports can also be supplied if needed. Dana works with customers to ensure that all local standards are met, as well as regulations set by the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS).
Mobile Harbor Crane
Efficient, mobile and versatile, a harbor mobile crane is used in ports for the handling of bulk materials, steel or scrap metal, general cargo, heavy load and containers. Here we supply S-Series units in slewing configuration with output supports and pinions, as well as direct and indirect drive configurations for lifting applications.
